This Women’s Development Organization is a non-profit, national level, voluntary development organization with a mission to contribute to the establishment of a just and poverty-free society by organizing and training the most disadvantaged women through its committed and skilled workers.

- As with other fabrics, keep out of direct sunlight, or color can change and fade.

Through fair trade retailers who carry delicious boxed mixes , soups, and more, our partners organization Women's Bean Project receives a long-term trading partnership and interest-free advance payment for orders. Through sales of their products, at-risk women receive skills training and income, replacing the effects of demoralizing poverty with self-confidence and hope.
Your purchase brings hope and opportunity to women in some of the poorest parts of Bangladesh, many of whom are widows, single mothers or heads-of-household with little or no income. Handcrafting income helps these disadvantaged artisans improve their standard of living and send their children to school.

- Each t-shirt contains the equivalent of approximately five plastic water bottles, taking them out of the landfills and repurposing them in your wardrobe.
This style runs large. When on the line between sizes, we recommend sizing down.

By purchasing this tapestry, you are supporting women rising out of poverty in Tijuana, Mexico. This product is hand-made in small batches, carefully crafted by a team of women, brought together by harsh life circumstances. Now, through a sewing collective, these strangers have become friends, in a community that is a lifeline to them for fair employment as well as connection and support through life's trials. Your purchase truly makes a difference in so many lives!

Please do not wash in a regular washer and dryer, dry clean only. Always iron on the back side of the tapestry and never on the front side with the letters.
Print will come folded for shipping; creases are normal and will fade over time when hanging. To decrease the appearance of the creases quickly, place the canvas print side down on an ironing table and place pillow case over the canvas print then you can iron over the creases. Avoid high levels of heat and keeping the iron in one place for too long. Brush over the creases with the iron and do not firmly press.

I M P A C T
Each sculpture is artfully hand-carved from a single piece of Kisii soapstone, found in the hills of southwestern Kenya. Mining the soapstone from surface hills is a labor-intensive process, using little to no machinery. Artisans follow traditional methods passed down through the ages, working with shovels, picks, axes and machetes to carve out large soapstone chunks, which are then carved using small hand tools into beautiful artwork!
Tabaka Chigware Youths Self Help Group is one of our newest artisan partner groups who we began partnering with during the pandemic. Each purchase you make provides more safe, living wage work for this wonderful community, in high need in this time of global crisis and recovery.
