Through fair trade retailers who carry delicious boxed mixes , soups, and more, our partners organization Women's Bean Project receives a long-term trading partnership and interest-free advance payment for orders. Through sales of their products, at-risk women receive skills training and income, replacing the effects of demoralizing poverty with self-confidence and hope. These sales also support small, local farmers, from whom ingredients are sourced. Your compassionate purchase provides a safe and accepting work environment where impoverished women can learn the skills required for gainful employment and self-sufficiency.

For pet items, WBP partners with Wagster, a fellow nonprofit employing low-income and homeless adults through a culinary training program. Packaged fresh by women in the Women’s Bean Project program.

The Bunny Mug is hand–painted by artisans in the traditional ceramic village of Bat Trang, Vietnam, a village just outside of Hanoi that is known for its traditional ceramics. The piece is formed in a mold and then hand–painted with glaze. Bat Trang village was established in the 14th century to supply ceramics to the royal household. Pottery making is one of the most ancient traditions in Vietnam.

I M P A C T

Friendsheep was created by Valeria Isaacs, a zero waste entrepreneur, disability advocate, mother, wife, nature lover, and former biologist. Her pursuit of her passions for ecology and sustainable living was interrupted when a spinal cord injury left her quadriplegic at age 22.

In late 2015, she decided to give new meaning to her life by founding Friendsheep, with the aim of providing high quality, eco-friendly products while also providing work and purpose to hundreds of women and disabled artisans in underprivileged communities of Nepal.
