Each calming stone is artfully hand-carved from a single piece of Kisii soapstone, found in the hills of southwestern Kenya. Mining the soapstone from surface hills is a labor-intensive process, using little to no machinery. Artisans follow traditional methods passed down through the ages, working with shovels, picks, axes and machetes to carve out large soapstone chunks, which are then carved using small hand tools into beautiful artwork!

Light your candle with a long lighter, and allow the candle to burn evenly to the edges to avoid "tunneling". trim your wick to 1/4" before each time you light it, this will ensure you candle burns evenly and keeps dirty soot out of your candle.

Light your candles on a heat proof surface, do not leave your candles unattended, and never burn for more than 4 hours at a time. keep out of children, flammable objects, and pets. once the candle wax is down to 1/3", stop burning the candle, and you may reuse the jar for another purpose.

Each piece of olive wood is carved using rudimentary tools, giving the bowl unique marks left by the hand  of the artisan.  The bone accent is crafted using the "batik" process which is an age old art used in Africa.  The patterns are applied by placing wax on the white bone and dipping the bone into a dark brown/black dye, resulting in the beautiful African mud cloth designs.

Crafted from recycled 55-gallon steel drums by village artisans in Haiti, these stunning trays are truly one-of-a-kind! The process of turning sheets of metal into beautiful art is all done by hand. Steel drums used to transport oil into the capital of Haiti are cut, the oil is burned off to clean the metal, and then flattened in order to create stunning and functional, upcycled art.
