What does the Job Training and Readiness Program include?
What program participants will receive:
- 6+ weeks of free education and job readiness skills in a variety of artisan, computer, and professional skills courses from 4 teachers skilled in each coursework area
- Future access to machines to create your own merchandise for selling
- Upon graduation from the program each graduate will receive: a set of materials to get her started on your own making the artisan items you have excelled at during the program
- Experience and professional references for future employment
- Certificate of completion from Do Good Shop Job Training and Readiness Program coursework
- Access to future orders via personal introductions to current shops, markets in their area, and/or Do Good Shop
- Prerequisite met to apply for future Do Good Shop Admin/Business Training Program to learn: business to business, wholesale, marketing, website management, merchandising, budget/cost analysis, materials sourcing, market trends/analysis, buyer/producer relations, Fair Trade Federation connection, and more

Why does Do Good Shop need money every month if the training program is just 8 weeks long?
MANY MORE WOMEN ARE WAITING in the wings, ready to be trained and learn valuable and marketable job skills that will support them in bridging the gap from crisis to stability.
With programs in Tijuana, Mexico and in soon to be in Sacramento, CA, there is always a need for more women in need to join the job training and readiness program.
Who can become a partner?
ANYONE! We are seeking a great-big-happy-family of multitudes sponsors to come together for one purpose: sharing what we have so that survivor women and their families can move from barely surviving to thriving in life. As we come together, our united impact become more than the sum of our individual parts.
Can I contact my employer, church, or others to inquire about donating?
YES, PLEASE DO! Corporations, family foundations, businesses, faith communities, individuals, book clubs, small groups, boy/girl scout troops. . . float the idea of partnering with a woman and her family in need with the helpers in your community. Sharing a partnership is a great way to do good together.
Can I gift my partnership?

Why Do Good Shop?
With tariffs on global imports, changes to USAID and immigration policies, and an economic downturn, displaced families are in crisis; the need is URGENT.
Do Good Shop is uniquely poised to meet this need quickly and effectively due to our ongoing, close connection with a Mexican refugee camp and it's survivor women since 2021, and our small business/nonprofit organization connections and experience over a decade since 2016.
Where do the funds from Do Good Shop's store sales go?
All proceeds from the sales of students handcrafted items go back into maintaining and expanding the Do Good Shop job training/charitable programs in order to serve more women in need.
Partnership provides a completely separate financial stream so that students in the training program can count on their education and access to workshop continuing, regardless of the ups and downs of the retail cycle and economy.
Income from the sales of merchandise is earmarked for:
- Repairing or purchasing training program equipment
- Do Good Shop's administrative costs
Do Good Shop's budget is made up of a mix of donations, grants, and retail sales. Product sales alone cannot cover the kind of life changing work we do. THANK YOU for making this critical work possible!
What will I receive as a Do Good Shop partner?
DO GOOD SHOP PROGRAM UPDATES on the students, artisan women/teachers, and their families through our founder, Jenni Biggs. About 3-4 times a year, you will receive photos, videos, email/text updates, or even a surprise student-crafted item made by women in the job training program.
Plus, for our local & social do good types, watch your inbox for evites to Do Good Shop gatherings in Davis, CA. for an evening of fun, an in person update, and connection with other Do Good Shop family.
