Artisan Impact: Guatemala

From a young age, Andrea fondly knew her “American family” through their sponsorship of her via Compassion International. In time, they took a trip to Guatemala to visit the Compassion project and meet Andrea and her family.  To this day, even as an adult, Andrea and her “American family” keep in touch regularly.  And when Andrea’s husband tragically passed away, leaving behind Andrea and their three children, a decades long friendship between Do Good Shop’s founder and Andrea’s American family has brought these amazing products to you, and safe living wage work to Andrea!

Andrea likes to make bags, shirts, aprons, skirts, and most recently, the most adorable dolls. She learned from a teacher in Chimaltenango who taught classes in her village, completing sewing classes and receiving a diploma. She is proud to earn money to support her family.
