United Women's Alliance, an NGO in Uganda, Africa, is committed to giving a hand up to marginalized and oppressed women. UWA gives survivors of oppression, poverty and violence a place to hone an artisan craft, work in safety and with dignity, and gain access to a marketplace.  All this adds up to real change for women in need, which translates into breaking the cycle for their children as well.
