Artisan Impact: USA + Haiti

“Le travail c'est la liberté”

Our Social Enterprise Story

“Work is freedom”. When asked about going to work even when the trip there is dangerous, this was the response of our team members in Haiti. A fair wage job truly has the ability to liberate and empower people.

Our story began in 2010 in Gulu, Uganda with a woman named Lucy who had a sewing center, but no work. Our parent organization, The Global Orphan Project, created work for her sewing school uniforms and a few other items. This work gave Lucy dignity, provided for her family and for others, and changed their stories from charity to empowerment.GOEX Apparel builds on that foundation by providing US consumers the opportunity to contribute to family strengthening and job creation programs around the world. You have the ability to change lives through a simple purchase decision. Perhaps most importantly, your partnership sets an example in the marketplace that ethical commerce can affect systemic, bottom-up change through the dignity of work.

By choosing GOEX, you are choosing a better shirt for a better world.
